A collection of caricatures capturing the essence of 21st-century cultural figures.

Praise for DRAWING INFLUENCE

“There’s a certain magic a caricaturist needs to truly capture a likeness, and Robin Schwartzman is a virtual David Copperfield with a sketchpad. Wickedly funny but never cruel, it’s as if she stumbled upon God’s original blueprints for our faces and said, “Very nice! Now let’s simplify it… and maybe make those ears just a little bigger!….” Humans come in an endless variety of shapes, sizes, and gloriously odd features—and through Robin’s eyes, every face becomes a celebration of character, charm, and just the right amount of mischief. It’s not just art. It’s magic!”
-STEVE SACK
2013 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Editorial Cartooning, Former Editorial Cartoonist, Star Tribune

“The greatest thing about the art of caricature is the vast array of styles and approaches that can still hit the mark. Robin’s caricature work is like a breath of fresh air in its unique vision and stunning sophistication, capturing her subjects in unmistakably recognizable splendor with a narrative spin. Readers of this terrific collection will be left wanting more."
-TOM RICHMOND
2011 Reuben Award Winner, Illustrator, MAD Magazine

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - but in the world of caricature and quotes by the talented Robin Schwartzman, it’s also the curve of a nose, a smile on the face and the squint of an eye. This book is a great collection of celebrity and political caricature drawn with the greatest tool we have as artists and that is the line. Whether poking fun or pulling heartstrings, each page is a celebration of character, and wonderfully imperfect faces that make us all human.”
-STEPHEN SILVER
Character Designer for Kim Possible, Danny Phantom and Clerks: The Animated Series

“Robin’s caricatures are top tier. Her likenesses are instantly recognizable and wickedly funny. In her book she includes signature quotes to accompany her subject’s images which makes for fun reading adding up to belly laughs whether you’re alone or at a party and she’s included many contemporary subjects which makes it timely as well.”
-ROBERT RISKO
Caricaturist for Vanity Fair, Andy Warhol’s Interview, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Capitol Records, Andy Cohen, and others

“Robin Schwartzman is a highly skilled artist, who is very connected to her cultural cosmos. The pictures are delightful in their design and storytelling. Her new book, Drawing Influence, is a rich and informed guided tour to our confounding times. Every line tells a tale. Brava!”
-STEVE BRODNER
Illustrator and Political Cartoonist, The New Yorker, The Nation, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, and others

“Caricature is a highly subjective enterprise, and I have my own highly subjective list of favorite Schwartzman caricatures which you will encounter within...so, buckle up, prepare to laugh, and revel in these character studies Robin Schwartzman has assembled both for your amusement, and your reflection. It’s a fun and insightful journey!”
